I’m a highly experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist, personally accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am also a Registered Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
My aim is to offer you a high quality therapeutic service; providing an open-minded, sensitive and safe therapeutic environment in which you can express inner thoughts and feelings, and understand and deal effectively with your issues and concerns.

I hold a PhD in counselling and psychotherapy and other postgraduate professional qualifications.
I have also trained with the Relate Institute, worked within Relate Cymru, NHS primary care, and extensively within private practice.
I work with individuals, couples and groups at my consulting rooms in Watergate House, Chester and accept referrals from a variety of insurance providers, including BUPA and AXA PPP Healthcare, Employment Assistance Programmes, NHS England and Wales and clients who want to self-refer. I use an integrative approach to therapy, grounded in psychotherapeutic theory and research. This enables me to facilitate the emotional and psychological needs of a broad range of people, from different cultural backgrounds, different life stages and identity values.
I believe people have the innate ability to emotionally heal, grow and achieve their full potential. This philosophy is fundamental to my work as a therapist.

In my role as a clinical supervisor I supervise therapists within an organisational setting and within private practice, and provide consultative support to qualified and trainee supervisors.
I also provide training and workshops in a range of areas to enhance practitioners’ therapeutic knowledge and practice.
Before entering the field of psychotherapy I worked in the business sector as a senior manager. I have worked in Higher Education teaching on a post-graduate practitioner programme.
My Doctoral research explored the experiences of working with sex and sexuality within therapy and the efficacy of training in this sphere. My current research interests include the role of sexuality in the couple relationship and the impact of shame on the self-concept.
